Community Involvement

At F.H. Furr, we dedicate 10% of our annual profits to charities, organizations, and education programs that are in need of support. We do all of our community work under the umbrella of our F.H. Furr Cares division! 



What We Support

With Mr. Furr being a former marine, military charities are important to us. Likewise, as a family company, education and school involvement are where we place much of our support, but it doesn’t stop there! From keeping our roads clean and feeding those in need, to helping end childhood cancer, we are staying active in our community and are honored to be able to partner, sponsor, and contribute to so many worthy local causes.

 

We don’t just focus on plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services….we focus on the people who receive it!

Willing Warriors - Bull Run Warrior Retreat 

For nearly ten years, Willing Warriors has been providing "a little taste of home" for wounded, ill, and severely injured warriors and their families at both Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. F.H. Furr is proud to sponsor their annual events which have included gift-giving at holidays, summer cookouts, golf tournaments, and visitation with lonely service men and women and their family members cooped up in the hospital. Willing Warriors and F.H. Furr have partnered to sponsor “Warrior Getaways” at the Bull Run Warrior Retreat, for much needed and deserved vacation breaks from the hospital environment.

Alex's Army 

A non-profit organization dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. Alex’s Army Childhood Cancer Foundation is a 501c3 whose mission is to raise awareness and funding for Childhood Cancer research while providing Christian focused support to the Childhood Cancer community.

Founded by a Northern Virginia local, David’s Hope is a non-profit organization that partners with a local Kenyan organization to build long-term, sustainable solutions that address the needs of the community in Eburru, Kenya.

Children's Miracle Network:
Logan Phoenix

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a North American non-profit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals, medical research, and community awareness of children's health issues. We partner with the family of Logan Phoenix who passed away from cancer as a baby. Their events help to support the Children’s Miracle Network fundraising.

Community Care 

It has always been the desire of F.H. Furr to create a community that is supportive of one another. That means caring for the people within the community and making it a better place to be. We consistently partner with Volunteer Prince William, Northern Virginia Family Services, NOVA Project Giveback, and the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry to provide essentials for those in need. Some of the ways that we do that include:
  • F.H. Furr’s “Keep ‘Em Warm” Coat Drive each winter
  • Family Movie nights throughout the summer
  • Northern Virginia Family Service Back To School Drive
  • WJLA's Backpack Drive
  • Haymarket Regional Food Pantry Peanut Butter Drive

Animal Shelters

While we sponsor numerous shelter events, we’ve recently partnered with the no-kill shelter, Friends Of Homeless Animals (FOHA), and are proud to support the work they’re doing to care for and provide homes for animals in need.

Clean Roads Initiative

Cleaning up our community starts on the highway! At F.H. Furr, our staff volunteers are proud to clear the trash from the roads, keeping their community clean and green! We have several highways that we've adopted and committed to keeping clean in the following counties:

  • Adopt-A-Highway Fairfax County
  • Adopt-A-Highway Loudoun County

Hylton Performing Arts Center

F.H. Furr isn't just about sports. We value the arts as well and feel that they play a large role in making our community a well-rounded society. That's why we sponsor venues like the Hylton Performing Arts Center where we know local artists can flourish.
